Hello! This is Dion Clinic Seolleung.
When skin stays sensitive for a long time, it can turn red or dry out at the slightest irritation, and its condition is easily thrown off. When the skin barrier is weakened, the skin can react sharply and breakouts can keep coming back. These are only some of the possible concerns.
So today Dion Clinic Seolleung will tell you about exosomes, one of the procedures sought by people with recurring breakouts and a weakened skin barrier.
Exosomes
Exosomes are a type of skin booster. They are a highly purified preparation separated from stem cell culture fluid, which holds the key components of those cells. The procedure is usually sought by people bothered by excess oil or a dull skin tone.
Exosomes are very small nano-sized vesicles released by cells, roughly hundreds of times smaller than an ordinary cell. Because they are so tiny, the clinic says, they pass easily through the gaps in the skin and through cell membranes and carry signals and nutrients.
How the procedure goes
Before the procedure, the doctor assesses your skin condition and sensitivity at a consultation. Numbing cream is then applied to the treatment area, left for a while and wiped off. The procedure follows, and it ends with soothing care for the skin.
After the procedure
Depending on your skin, you may feel some stinging or redness for a short time afterwards, but it soon eases. For about a week after the procedure, please avoid anything that makes you hot, such as saunas, hot baths and intense exercise. The clinic also asks you to avoid alcohol and smoking for about a week.
Unlike other skin boosters, the clinic says, exosomes have a marked anti-inflammatory and soothing effect. Results differ from person to person, but in general the procedure may help not only with firmness but also with acne-prone skin, chronic inflammation and a weakened barrier. However, how it differs from other skin boosters and what result you get depend on each person's skin, so please decide whether to have it after talking to a doctor.
